Guide to SWFL 4th of July Events

It's the biggest Fourth of July in a generation, America turns 250 this year, and Southwest Florida is celebrating in style. We've rounded up 20+ events across 8 cities so you can make the most of the holiday, whether you're looking for parades, fireworks, live music, or all of the above.

Bonita Springs

Bonita Springs 4th of July Parade
9am–11am  |  Old 41, starting at Rosemary Ave  |  Free
A community tradition since 1958, organized by the Bonita Springs Firefighters Union. The parade runs south on Old 41 from Rosemary Ave to the fire station. Best viewing is near Riverside Park. Old 41 closes at 8:30am, so plan ahead. Water friendly, no water balloons.

Star Spangled Bonita
6pm–9pm  |  Riverside Park  |  Free
An evening celebration featuring live music from the Ben Allen Band, followed by a drone show, laser lights, and fireworks to close out the night. Closures start at 5:30pm

4th of July at Sugarshack Downtown
9am–1am | Sugarshack Downtown, Bonita Springs | Free
Live music from morning to midnight and a front-row seat for the Star Spangled Bonita fireworks, laser lights, and drone show at Riverside Park. Come for the parade and stay for the party!

Battle of the Buns: Hot Dog Eating Contest
3pm | Rooftop at Riverside, 27333 Old 41 Rd | Free to enter.
Think you've got what it takes? Rooftop at Riverside's hot dog eating contest kicks off at 3pm; first to eat 12 dogs wins a trophy and prizes.

Freedom & Fireworks at Rooftop at Riverside
5pm–close | Rooftop at Riverside, 27333 Old 41 Rd | Ticketed
Cap off your Fourth with an evening of festivities on the rooftop at Riverside Park, perfectly positioned for views of the Star Spangled Bonita fireworks. Limited tickets available.

Freedom 5K & Kids Fun Run
Registration 6am  |  Race starts 7am  |  Cape Coral Bridge, 2051 Cape Coral Pkwy E  |  Paid
The Chamber of Commerce of Cape Coral's annual race runs across the Cape Coral Bridge. Registration is $20–$40, or $15 for the Kids Fun Run (ages 12 and under). Proceeds benefit the Brotherhood of Heroes Resource Center and the Special Operations Communicators Association. Visit freedom5kcc.com to register.

Red, White & BOOM! Featuring Chris Lane
Festivities 5pm  |  Fireworks 9:30pm  |  Cape Coral Pkwy at the foot of the bridge  |  Free
Cape Coral's largest single-day event features a live concert by country star Chris Lane, food vendors, and a spectacular fireworks finale at 9:30pm. General admission is free but plan to come early as this event draws thousands. Limited Boom Zone tickets available for a premium experience. Note: the Cape Coral Bridge and Cape Coral Pkwy will be closed from 3am July 4th through 3am July 5th. Visit capeboom.com.

Fourth of July Bash at Slipaway

A limited-capacity waterfront party at Slipaway Food Truck Park & Marina, also celebrating the venue's one-year anniversary. Features live music from Unleashed: The Toby Keith Tribute, food and drinks, cooling misters, and prime views of the Red, White & Boom fireworks. Tickets start at $100/person. Estero

Reading of the Declaration of Independence

The Estero Historical Society hosts a dramatic costumed reading of the Declaration of Independence at their Cottage Museum, as part of the nation's 250th Anniversary celebration. Enjoy fresh watermelon, a patriotic fire truck display, and community giveaways.

Fort Myers

San Carlos Park 4th of July Parade
Starts 8:30am  |  San Carlos Park  |  Free
The neighborhood parade kicks off at Ace Hardware Plaza (Sanibel Blvd. & U.S. 41), travels along Lee Rd., east on San Carlos Blvd. to Three Oaks Blvd., and ends at Three Oaks Park. Expect floats, fire trucks, and musical groups.

4th of July @ FMBrew!

The taproom opens at noon with live music all afternoon,Charlie Pace from 1–3pm and Soapy Tuna from 5–8pm. Food trucks from Ro & Co Barbecue and Don't Give Up on site.

Swamp Games 2026

Adults-only team competition with five skill-based games, prizes, live music, exclusive beer releases, and food trucks from La Playa 787, Don't Give Up, and Enjays Caribbean Cuisine.

7th Annual Hotdogs for Autism
Block Party 4pm–10pm  |  City Tavern  |  Free admission
A beloved annual block party benefiting Family Initiative, a nonprofit supporting youth with autism. Highlights include food by Chef Brian Duffy, DJ Juan Gomez, a chili dog eating contest at 6pm, and fireworks at 9pm.

Bay Street Yard Annual Fourth of July Party
11:30am–1:30am  |  2136 Bay St, Downtown Fort Myers  |  Free
An all-day patriotic party with festive drink specials, street-side grilling, a dunk tank, live music from The Common Criminals (5–9pm), and DJ Ian Kelley (10pm–1:30am). Downtown Fort Myers July 4th Celebration
Starts 7pm  |  Fireworks 9:15pm  |  Caloosa Sound Amphitheater  |  Free general admission
Fort Myers' biggest Fourth of July event, with live music, a drone show, rooftop experiences, and fireworks over the downtown waterfront. Bring a blanket or lawn chair for the free lawn area, or purchase premium tickets for reserved seating and a private bar.

Rooftop Bash at the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center
7pm–11pm  |  2301 First St, Downtown Fort Myers  |  $115+
Watch the downtown Fort Myers fireworks from the Davis Art Center's rooftop sculpture garden — one of the best vantage points in the city. Admission ($115) includes a barbecue buffet, draft beer and wine, swag gifts, and a DJ. Visit sbdac.com/july-4 for tickets.

Fort Myers Beach

Fort Myers Beach 4th of July Parade
10am–11am  |  Bay Oaks Rec Center to Times Square  |  Free
The annual parade travels north from Bay Oaks Recreational Center up to Times Square. Note: the Matanzas Pass Bridge closes 9am–noon. Parade participant registration deadline is June 26.

FREEDOM BY THE BAY CONCERT
Ceremony at 4:15  |  Live Music 5-8pm | Bayside Park  |  Free
A patriotic Fourth of July concert and ceremony taking place at Bayside Veterans Park on July 4, 2026. The patriotic ceremony will begin at 4:15 PM, followed by live musical performances beginning at 5:00 PM and ending at 8:00 PM.

Fort Myers Beach 4th of July Fireworks
9pm–9:30pm  |  Times Square  |  Free
Fireworks light up the sky above Times Square, funded by community donations. Note: the Matanzas Pass Bridge closes 8:30pm–11:30pm, so plan your departure early.

Marco Island

Marco Island 4th of July Fireworks
9pm–9:30pm  |  Tigertail Beach  |  Free
Fireworks launched from a barge off the coast between Tigertail Beach and South Beach. Personal fireworks are prohibited within city limits. Sea turtle nesting season is in effect — please be mindful on the beach.

Naples

GCR Firecracker 5K
Starts 7am  |  Fleischmann Park  |  Paid registration
A festive morning 5K open to runners, walkers, and everyone in between. Proceeds benefit the Gulf Coast Runners Youth Development Fund. Visit gcrunner.org to register.

Naples 4th of July Parade
9am–10:30am  |  5th Ave South  |  Free
The Naples parade runs east along 5th Ave South from 3rd Street to 8th Street South, featuring floats, fire engines, bands, dance troupes, scouts, and civic groups tossing candy and beads to the crowd. Spectators should line up along 5th Ave S or 8th St — not 3rd St South, which is reserved for staging. Free parking in the two nearby garages. Arrive early — spots fill up fast.

Gulf Coast Runners Freedom Swim
Meets 10:30am  |  Lowdermilk Park Beach  |  Free
An informal group swim following the Firecracker 5K. Meet at Lowdermilk Park, walk one mile south on the beach, sing the National Anthem, then swim back. No registration, no fee — swim at your own risk.

Naples 4th of July Fireworks
9pm–9:30pm  |  5th Ave South Beach Access  |  Free
A 25-minute fireworks show launched from a barge near 5th Ave South, choreographed to patriotic music simulcast on WAVV 101.1 FM. New location this year due to Naples Pier construction. Bring chairs and a radio, and carpool if possible — parking enforcement will be strict.

Independence Day Cookout at The Perry Hotel Naples
Noon–3pm | Bodega Poolside Bar, The Perry Hotel Naples | Ticketed
Celebrate the Fourth poolside at The Perry Hotel's Independence Day Cookout. DJ Rebel spins live from noon to 3pm while you enjoy cookout favorites, alongside poolside cocktails and summer drink specials. Day passes are available and the event is open to both locals and hotel guests.

Sanibel Island

Sanibel Community Church Pancake Breakfast
7am–9am | Sanibel Community Church, 1740 Periwinkle Way | Free
Start the Fourth with a classic island tradition. The community is invited to gather for a pancake breakfast before the day's festivities begin — a warm, welcoming morning of food, fellowship, and hometown spirit. Call 239-699-8739 for more info.

Sanibel Island 4th of July Parade
9am–11am  |  Tarpon Bay Rd & Periwinkle Way  |  Free
The annual parade travels east on Periwinkle Way from Tarpon Bay Rd, ending at Casa Ybel Rd. Periwinkle closes 9am–noon. Arrive early for a good spot. Bring chairs, water, and sunscreen. Parking available at multiple locations along the route.

Jerry's 4th of July Celebration
10am–2pm | Jerry's Foods, 1700 Periwinkle Way | Free
Right in the heart of the parade route, Jerry's hosts a free outdoor celebration in the parking lot with food, face painting, live music, and family-friendly activities. A great spot to wind down after the parade.

Stars, Stripes & Sanibel Community Celebration
11am–2pm | Sanibel Recreation Center, 3880 Sanibel-Captiva Rd | Free
One of the island's signature Independence Day traditions. The Rec Center hosts an afternoon packed with food, music, swimming, inflatables, crafts, entertainment, and the island-famous water balloon battle against the Sanibel Fire District. The Red, White & Blue Apple Pie Baking Contest also returns.

46th Annual Fourth of July Road Rally
Starts Noon | Timbers Restaurant, 703 Tarpon Bay Rd | Free
A beloved island tradition now in its 46th year. Teams set out on an island-wide scavenger hunt, solving clues and answering questions as they explore Sanibel. A uniquely fun and interactive way to spend the afternoon. Contact 239-699-8739 for details.

July 4th Jazz Concert
4pm | Sanibel Congregational United Church of Christ, 2050 Periwinkle Way | Free
In honor of America's 250th Anniversary, the community is invited to a free concert featuring classical and jazz selections from Dave Brubeck's To Hope: A Celebration. A peaceful and uplifting way to spend the late afternoon before fireworks. Call 239-472-0497 for more info.

Fourth of July BBQ Buffet at The Dunes
6pm–10pm | The Dunes Golf & Tennis Club, 949 Sand Castle Rd | RSVP required
The Dunes' annual holiday BBQ buffet features food, live music, activities for kids, and holiday fun — and it's one of the best spots on the island to watch the fireworks after dinner. A seat at the buffet reserves your place for the show, open to dinner guests only. Call 239-472-3355 to reserve.

Sanibel Island 4th of July Fireworks
9pm–9:30pm  |  San Carlos Bay  |  Free
Fireworks are launched from the north end of Bailey Road and are visible from the Sanibel Causeway, bayside beaches, and by boat in the bay. Find a spot along the water for a great front-row view.
