SWFL Eagle Cam Goes Live for 2025–2026 Season
The Southwest Florida Eagle Cam is back, streaming 24/7 from a North Fort Myers bald eagle nest for its 14th year. Over the years, the cameras have followed three different eagle pairs through all the triumphs and challenges of raising their young. This season marks the third year together for F23 (Female 2023) and M15 (Male 2015), whose return is especially poignant after the loss of eaglets E24 and E25 to avian influenza last spring.(Cape Coral Breeze) Watch Here

Wildlife Photo Contest for High Schoolers
The “Ding” Darling – Theodore Cross Wildlife Photography Contest is back, inviting Southwest Florida high school students to showcase their best nature shots. A $1,000 grand prize is up for grabs, with the contest open October 1, 2025 – January 15, 2026. Students in Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Glades and Hendry counties can submit up to two digital images along with a short 100-word description of the moment captured.(News Press)

Otters Return to Wonder Gardens After 12 Years
After more than a decade, otters are back at Wonder Gardens in Bonita Springs with the debut of a brand-new exhibit. Ivy and Mae are two rescued female American river otters from Louisiana. The playful addition is part of the “Renew the Wonder” plan, giving visitors yet another reason to explore this historic local attraction.(WGCU)

Safe Start Boosts School Bus Punctuality
This school year, Lee County has rolled out its Safe Start initiative, reshuffling bell times and reworking routes to reduce bus delays. Already, morning on-time rates have improved by 20%, and afternoon on-time dismissals rates increased 19%. The district says they’re not stopping until 100% of students arrive on schedule. (WINK)
