Fort Myers First Island Park Fort Myers City Council is moving forward with a grant from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission for $330,241 to transform Legacy Island, from undeveloped parcel in the Caloosahatchee River to the first island park. The project’s first phase includes shoreline stabilization, vegetation restoration and accessibility improvements.
