Southwest Florida Among Top Spring Break Searches for 2026
Fort Myers ranked as the fourth most searched spring break destination for 2026 on Spirit Airlines, based on web searches tracked from January 5 to February 5 for travel dates between March 6 and April 26. Southwest Florida International Airport placed behind Fort Lauderdale, San Juan, and Miami, with other top destinations including Cancun, Myrtle Beach, and Punta Cana. (Gulf Coast News)

Fort Myers Beach Launches Community Fundraiser for July 4th Fireworks
What's Up FMB has launched a community fundraising campaign in partnership with the Town of Fort Myers Beach to fund the annual "Red, White, and Beach" Fourth of July fireworks and parade, which requires $129,000 to produce. A $44,000 fireworks barge has been fully donated and a $25,000 lead donation has secured the fireworks deposit, with any unused funds reserved for future fireworks initiatives. (Wink News)
